After being selected from nearly 500 amateur actors for his debut, Daung established himself as a prominent Burmese film and television actor with a leading role in the 2015 film ‘The Second Heart.’ He further gained recognition with his role in the 2017 film ‘Little Umbrella Story,’ a domestic success. His popularity significantly increased through the 2017 television series ‘Bagan Myo Thu,’ where his portrayal of Maung Maung Gyi contributed to the show becoming the most-watched Burmese television drama at the time.
