David Grutman was born on July 3, 1974, in Naples, Florida. He graduated from Barron G. Collier High School in 1993 and earned a finance degree from the University of Florida. In 2008, he opened LIV, a nightclub located at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel, which became the fifth highest-grossing nightclub in the United States by 2014. He expanded his footprint in the hospitality sector with the opening of Story in 2013 and the restaurant Komodo. Further ventures include the café OTL, the restaurant Planta South Beach, and Swan and Bar Bevy, with Pharrell Williams as a partner. In 2018, Grutman founded Groot Hospitality, a holding company for his various businesses, and he sold a majority stake in it to Live Nation Entertainment in 2019.
Isabela Rangel Grutman, originally from Brazil, began her career as a model. She has since expanded her professional endeavors into fashion design and philanthropy. In 2022, Isabela launched her eco-friendly clothing line, “Rangel.” She is also actively involved in charity work as the Vice President of Style Saves, an organization that supports children in need. David and Isabela Rangel Grutman married in 2016 and currently have two daughters.
