Russian-American YouTuber Dima Konovalov is best known for his exploits on the popular YouTube channel In-Debt — and in particular for a video in which his friends prank him by destroying his old car, only to present him with a brand new one. The video has been watched more than seven million times since it was uploaded in December 2018 and has endeared Konovalov to many. Since then, he has accrued nearly 85,000 followers on Instagram but retains his self-deprecating air, declaring himself (unfairly) to have “no real talent” in his Insta bio.
The In-Debt channel was launched on YouTube during summer 2017. It follows the exploits of a group of friends in Chicago who regularly post comedy content. They quickly built up a following and have now gained over 175,000 followers on the platform. The video in which the channel’s central two hosts celebrated their friend Dima’s birthday by trashing his car with a digger and a massive boulder before, after having him chase them in rage, managing to calm him down and tell him that it was all a prank and that they’d bought him a brand new vehicle — far nicer than his old one.
Recent videos have been very popular, as have Konovalov’s regular posts about his everyday life on Instagram.
