Uittenbogaard’s foundation in the sport was built through a strong junior career, having made his international representative debut at the 2006 Junior World Rowing Championships in Beijing. He continued to compete at the U23 level, representing the Netherlands at the World Rowing U23 Championships from 2009 to 2012 in various boat classes, including the quad, single scull, and double scull, before moving into senior representative crews in 2013 for the World Rowing Championships in South Korea.

The culmination of Uittenbogaard’s dedication and skill arrived at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Competing in the Men’s Quadruple Sculls Final A, the Dutch team, comprising Uittenbogaard, Abe Wiersma, Tone Wieten, and Koen Metsemakers, showcased remarkable resilience after an initial setback to clinch the coveted gold medal.
