Don Lemon

Don Renaldo Lemon-Clark, born on March 1, 1966, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has built a career as a prominent American television journalist. His early career saw him anchoring weekend news programs at local stations in Alabama and Pennsylvania. Lemon also worked as a correspondent for NBC, appearing on programs such as Today and NBC Nightly News. He joined NBC’s Chicago affiliate, WMAQ-TV, in 2003, where he served as a reporter and local news co-anchor. During this period, he received three regional Emmy Awards for his local reporting, showcasing his aptitude for detailed and professional news coverage.

Lemon’s tenure at CNN began in September 2006, where he steadily gained recognition for his direct communication style and comprehensive reporting. He anchored programs such as CNN Tonight with Don Lemon from 2014 to 2022 and later co-hosted CNN This Morning. His work at CNN included covering major news events, such as the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, for which he hosted a dedicated nightly program. Lemon’s commitment to journalism earned him an Edward R. Murrow Award in 2002 for his coverage of the Washington, D.C. snipers, along with additional Regional Emmy Awards for special reports on real estate and a business feature on Craigslist. In 2024, Lemon launched “The Don Lemon Show,” distributed in partnership with X, marking his transition into independent media.
