Don Lemon

The Edward R. Murrow Award in 2002 for his powerful coverage of the Washington, D.C. snipers established Don Lemon as a formidable journalist. He earned three regional Emmy Awards for his local reporting at NBC’s Chicago affiliate, WMAQ-TV (2005-2006), where he served as a reporter and local news co-anchor.

He was named one of ‘the most influential LGBTQ people in the USA’ by Out Magazine in 2017 and included among the ‘Pride50’ ‘trailblazing LGBT individuals’ by Queerty Magazine in 2019. In 2021, Lemon authored his second book, This Is the Fire: What I Say to My Friends About Racism. In 2022, Lemon launched ‘The Don Lemon Show’ for CNN+. Following his 2023 departure from CNN, he transitioned into independent media.

In 2024, Lemon launched a new iteration of ‘The Don Lemon Show,’ distributed in partnership with X. This new platform reinforces his commitment to exploring timely social issues, cementing his position as an impactful and recognized voice in modern journalism.
