Dr. Adeline Kikam is a trailblazing medical, cosmetic and expert media consultant dermatologist. Kikam launched her social media platform “Brown Skin Derm” to fill the void of evidence-based information for brown and black skin online, creating a trusted space for skin care knowledge led by experts. A Board-Certified medical and cosmetic dermatologist, she has appeared frequently in the media in the likes of Elle, Cosmopolitan, Well + Good, Glamour and Fashionista.

Kikam suffered from struggles with her own skin whilst growing up, and this along with a lack of access to the dermatological care she needed fueled her to begin her own career in dermatology. During her dermatology residency she decided to spread her new knowledge to anyone who was willing to listen, and launched her social media platform “Brown Skin Derm” so she could highlight the problems about access for care for melanin-rich skin and also highlight common skin conditions. Social media turned out to be an impactful and transforming tool for Kikam, where she used her passion to provide care and to educate others on skincare beyond her immediate community. Brown Skin Derm now has hundreds of thousands of followers online, and in 2022 she launched international telederm platform Brown Skin Derm Consult to connect more communities of color with dermatologists knowledgeable in treating skin of colour. She also continues to tackle the evolving world of new skincare products and aesthetic procedures, and is followed by a diverse group of individuals from all corners of the globe.
