Dr. Kotb earned her degree in clinical sexology from Maimonides University in Florida the same year. This built upon her earlier work, including a master’s thesis on the ‘Medicolegal Implications of Sexually Transmitted Diseases in Sexually abused Children’ which highlighted a significant public understanding gap. Her extensive research into Islamic teachings on marital sexuality culminated in her Ph.D.

Kotb had authored and published four influential books on sexual relationships, further cementing her expertise and reach. Her significant influence extends to digital platforms, evidenced by her robust online following, which surpassed 2 million followers on her Facebook page by 2021.
