World-renowned dermatologist Dr. Jenny Liu has taken social media by storm, racking up over half a million followers on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. With over a decade of experience in the medical field, the board-certified dermatologist debunks beauty myths online through her blog DERM.TALK and social media accounts, and shares her life as a woman in leadership and as a mother. As well as handing out valuable skincare advice online, Liu has written for the likes of Elle and Women’s Health magazines. With extensive experience in skin conditions, ethnic dermatology, cosmetic skin procedures and skin cancer and excision, she is an assistant professor of dermatology at the prestigious University of Minnesota Medical School. Liu has partnered with skincare and cosmetic giant e.l.f as their skincare ambassador, and she is affiliated with Hennepin Healthcare.
Liu graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a love of both science and teaching. She chose to specialise in dermatology after realising she could make a visible difference in the lives of others after volunteering at a free clinic during medical school, where she witnessed how skin conditions can take a toll on people even if they aren’t life threatening. The leading dermatologist continues to use her huge presence on social media as a platform to educate and bring awareness of fellow women in medicine and also to give opportunities for discussion.
