Russian figure skater, Elizaveta Tuktamysheva is a gold medal champion, a former national champion and a top international female skater.
Learning to skate from the age of four, Tuktamysheva made headlines from an early age, being dubbed a figure skating prodigy for her ability to land difficult jumps. At just eleven, Tuktamysheva competed in her first senior Russian Championships, before going on to win the silver medal in 2009. Making her international debut during the 2010-11 season in the ISU Junior Grand Prix, Tuktamysheva went on to compete in the finals and ultimately take home the silver medal. In the same year, she also won gold at the Russian Junior Championships. Since then, Tuktamysheva has gone on to compete at competitions around the world and in 2012 qualified for the Winter Youth Olympics in Innsbruck, at which she won gold in the ladies’ singles. She was also the gold medallist winner at the 2015-16 Grand Prix Final in Barcelona and became a European champion following her gold medal win during Stockholm in 2015. Having also represented Russia at the World Team Trophy event, Tuktamysheva contributed to their silver medal win during 2015 in Tokyo and a further bronze medal win during 2019 in Fukuoka.
Renowned for her impressive figure skating skills, in 2015 Tuktamysheva became the first female skater to successfully land four triple jumps in her short programme. She has since become the first woman to land twelve jumps in an international competition. As of the 2019-20 season, Tuktamysheva is the 11th highest-ranking female figure skater in the world.
