Ema Klinec made history in February 2021, becoming the first Slovenian female ski jumping world champion by securing the gold medal in the normal hill event at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf. This landmark achievement followed her early international recognition at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics in Lillehammer, where she earned two gold medals in both the individual normal hill and mixed team normal hill events. Klinec first competed in the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup during the 2013-14 season and has maintained a consistent and strong presence, frequently placing within the top 10 in World Cup standings from the 2015-16 season onwards. Building on her 2021 World Championship success, Klinec also secured a silver medal in the women’s team normal hill event at the same Oberstdorf championships.
These sustained achievements highlight her ongoing impact and status as a leading athlete in professional ski jumping.
