Emma Samms

Emma Samms, born Emma Elizabeth Wylie Samuelson on August 28, 1960, in London, England, UK, began her career with early achievements in the entertainment industry. She initially trained as a dancer at the Royal Ballet School. When a hip injury at age 15 halted her ballet pursuits, she transitioned to acting. Her career gained significant momentum with her television debut, establishing her as a recognizable face in both British and American productions. Samms is particularly known for her work in major soap operas, which provided a platform for her acting capabilities and connected her with a wide audience.

Samms achieved significant recognition for her role as Holly Sutton in “General Hospital,” a character she played from 1982 to 1985. Her decision to depart the show led to her joining the cast of “Dynasty” in 1985 as Fallon Carrington Colby, a role she continued in the spin-off “The Colbys” until 1987. She returned to “Dynasty” from 1987 to 1989 and later reprised the role in the 1991 miniseries “Dynasty: The Reunion.” Her popularity on “General Hospital” led to her character Holly Sutton being brought back from the dead in 1992, a testament to her impact on viewers. Following this, she took on roles in various film and television projects, demonstrating her versatility across different genres and production types.

Throughout her career, Samms has maintained a presence in both American and British television. Her later career includes significant stints on BBC series such as “Holby City” (2003) and a recurring role on “Doctors” (2005-2018). In addition to her acting work, Samms co-founded the Starlight Children’s Foundation in 1983, an organization dedicated to helping seriously ill children.
