Emmet Sheehan

George Emmet Sheehan was born on November 15, 1999, in New York, NY, and later moved to Darien, Connecticut, at age five. He attended Fordham Preparatory School for three years before transferring to Salisbury School. His collegiate baseball career began at Boston College, where he played for three seasons, notably achieving a 5–5 record with a 4.23 ERA and 106 strikeouts across 76.2 innings pitched as a junior. His performance led to him being drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the sixth round of the 2021 Major League Baseball draft.

Sheehan began his professional journey in the minor leagues, progressing from the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League Dodgers to the Low-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and then to the High-A Great Lakes Loons in 2021. He continued to excel with the Great Lakes Loons and a late-season call-up to the Double-A Tulsa Drillers in 2022, accumulating a 7–2 record and a 2.91 ERA with 106 strikeouts across both teams. In 2023, he started the season with Tulsa, posting a 4–1 record and a 1.86 ERA with 88 strikeouts in 53.1 innings before his promotion directly to the Major Leagues.

Emmet Sheehan made his MLB debut on June 16, 2023, for the Los Angeles Dodgers, pitching six no-hit innings against the San Francisco Giants. He secured his first Major League win on June 23, 2023, against the Houston Astros. After experiencing a forearm injury in 2024 which led to Tommy John surgery, he made a strong return to the Dodgers’ rotation on June 18, 2025. In the 2025 season, he recorded a 6–3 record with a 2.82 ERA and 89 strikeouts over 73.1 innings despite a brief move to the bullpen during the postseason. Sheehan was part of the Los Angeles Dodgers team that won the World Series Championship in 2025. He continued to pitch for the Dodgers in 2026, making 20 starts and achieving a 4-8 record with a 5.29 ERA.
