Eric Fisher

Eric Fisher, a Super Bowl champion and two-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle, established himself as a dominant force in collegiate football before making an unprecedented leap to the NFL. While playing college football at Central Michigan University from 2009 to 2012, Fisher garnered widespread recognition, earning first-team All-American honors from Pro Football Weekly in 2012, alongside second-team selection from Sports Illustrated and third-team honors from the Associated Press. In his final collegiate year, he was also named a first-team All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) selection. Fisher contributed to two significant bowl victories for Central Michigan: the 2010 GMAC Bowl and the 2012 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, setting the stage for a highly anticipated professional career.

In 2013, Fisher made history as the first overall pick in the NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, becoming the first player from the MAC conference to achieve this distinction. He immediately secured a lucrative professional contract with the Chiefs, signing a guaranteed deal worth $22.1 million, which included a substantial $14.5 million signing bonus. Initially serving as the team’s right tackle, he transitioned to the crucial left tackle position in 2014. Demonstrating the Chiefs’ long-term confidence in his abilities, Fisher signed a significant four-year contract extension in 2016 valued at $48 million, with $40 million guaranteed.

After eight impactful seasons with the Chiefs, Fisher was released by the team in March 2021. He subsequently signed a one-year, $8.38 million deal with the Indianapolis Colts, contributing to their offensive line during the 2021 season. In 2022, Fisher joined the Miami Dolphins; however, he was placed on injured reserve before appearing in a game. Eric Fisher officially declared free agency on March 14, 2023.
