Fahim Anwar transitioned from an aerospace engineer to a recognized standup comedian, actor, and writer, known for his performances in film and television and his work as a head writer. After establishing himself in the highly competitive Los Angeles comedy scene, Fahim Anwar quickly rose to prominence, recognized as one of the ‘New Faces’ at the prestigious Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal and a finalist at NBC-Universal’s Stand-Up for Diversity Showcase. His early career on television began with a guest-starring role on NBCs Chuck in 2010, followed by a recurring presence in season 3 of FOXs Lie to Me. Anwar further expanded his television profile as a series regular on seasons 2 and 3 of MTV’s Disaster Date, solidifying his position as a dynamic performer in both comedic and dramatic roles.
Anwar further showcased his multi-hyphenate talent on the CBS series United States of Al, appearing as ‘Mo’ in 2021 and making significant contributions behind the scenes. Between 2021 and 2022, he served as a teleplay and story writer for 14 episodes of the series, additionally taking on roles as supervising producer and consulting producer in 2021. His comedic writing prowess was again highlighted with his stand-up special Hat Trick, released in 2022, building on the success of his previous work. During this period, he also contributed as a writer to the series Immoral Compass in 2021.
Most recently, Fahim Anwar continued to expand his creative footprint with the release of his latest television special, Fahim Anwar: House Money, in 2024, for which he held dual credits as both writer and producer. This project underscores his consistent evolution as a multifaceted creative force, seamlessly blending stand-up comedy, acting, and an impactful presence in writing and production across film and television.
