Finn Allen

Finnley Hugh Allen was born on April 22, 1999, in Auckland, New Zealand. He began his cricket career playing domestic cricket for Auckland, making his Twenty20 debut in the 2016–17 Super Smash. Prior to this, he was part of New Zealand’s squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he was the leading run-scorer for the team with 338 runs in the 2018 edition, including a century against the West Indies. He later moved to Wellington for the 2020–21 domestic season, where he emerged as the leading run-scorer in the Super Smash with 512 runs, contributing to Wellington’s title defense.

Allen’s career progression accelerated with his selection for the New Zealand national team. He made his T20I debut against Bangladesh in March 2021 and his ODI debut in July 2022 against Ireland. He has played for several international franchise teams, including Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, Lancashire and Yorkshire in England, and the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League. In June 2025, playing for the San Francisco Unicorns in Major League Cricket, Allen achieved a league record of 151 runs off 52 balls, breaking records for fastest century and most sixes in a T20 innings globally with 19 sixes.

His achievements include scoring a T20I century against Scotland in 2022 and surpassing Brendon McCullum’s New Zealand T20I record with 137 runs from 62 balls against Pakistan in January 2024. This performance also saw him equal the world T20 record for most sixes in an innings. In August 2024, Allen opted to decline a New Zealand Cricket central contract to pursue further international franchise opportunities, showcasing his commitment to global T20 cricket.
