Finn Allen

Finn Allen established himself as a formidable force in limited-overs cricket, making his Twenty20 debut for Auckland during the 2016–17 Super Smash. After being part of New Zealand’s squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, Allen emerged as the leading run-scorer for the team in the 2018 edition, accumulating 338 runs and hitting a century against the West Indies. He made his List A and First-class debuts for Auckland in 2018. Transitioning to Wellington for the 2020–21 domestic season, Allen showcased his aggressive batting by becoming the leading run-scorer in the Super Smash with 512 runs, playing a pivotal role in Wellington’s successful title defense.

Demonstrating formidable power-hitting, Allen delivered a record-breaking performance against Pakistan in January 2024, surpassing Brendon McCullum’s New Zealand T20I record with an exceptional 137 runs from just 62 balls. This innings also equaled the world T20 record for most sixes. Further cementing his reputation as a world-class T20 batter, in June 2025, playing for the San Francisco Unicorns in Major League Cricket, Allen achieved a league record of 151 runs off 52 balls. This monumental innings broke global records for fastest century and most sixes in a T20 innings, featuring an astonishing 19 sixes.

Finn Allen’s strategic focus on limited-overs cricket was underscored in August 2024, when he declined a New Zealand Cricket central contract. This decision highlights his strong commitment to pursuing international franchise opportunities worldwide, solidifying his status as a highly marketable and bookable asset in the rapidly evolving global T20 circuit.
