Frank Ragnow played center for the Detroit Lions for seven seasons, nominated for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award, and named to ESPN's 25 under 25 list.
Frank Ragnow, born on May 17, 1996, in Victoria, Minnesota, established himself as a prominent Football player. He attended Chanhassen High School, where he was highly regarded as the 24th-best offensive tackle nationally and the third-best prospect from Minnesota. Recognizing his talent, ESPN rated him as a four-star athlete. Ragnow committed to the University of Arkansas, where he played college football for the Arkansas Razorbacks. His collegiate career was marked by significant achievements, including two All-American selections in 2016 and 2017, and never allowing a single sack throughout his time at Arkansas. He was crucial to the team’s performance, starting in numerous games as both a center and right guard and earning 1st Team All-SEC honors multiple times.
In 2018, Ragnow was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the first round as the 20th overall pick, making him the highest-drafted center from Arkansas. He quickly made an impact, signing a four-year, $11.78 million contract that included substantial guaranteed money and a signing bonus. Initially playing left guard for the Lions, he started all 16 games in his rookie season. His professional career saw him receive four Pro Bowl selections and three second-team All-Pro selections across his seven seasons, all spent with the Detroit Lions. He signed a four-year contract extension worth $54 million with the Lions in 2021, solidifying his role as a key player.
Following his robust NFL career, Ragnow announced his retirement from professional football in June 2025. Post-football, he has channeled his enthusiasm for the outdoors into ‘Grizzly Man Outdoors,’ a collaborative venture with his brother, Jack Ragnow. Through this platform, Frank shares his experiences in hunting, fishing, and outdoor exploration, connecting with a wider audience who share his passion for nature and adventure.
