Geno Smith

Geno Smith, an accomplished NFL quarterback, has demonstrated resilience and skill throughout his career, becoming a Pro Bowl selection and Comeback Player of the Year. After becoming the Most Valuable Player of the 2012 Orange Bowl, Geno Smith went on to lead West Virginia University to a dominant 70-33 victory over Clemson, breaking Tom Brady’s Orange Bowl record with 401 passing yards. Smith’s collegiate career was marked by consistent excellence, earning him First-team All-Big East honors in 2011 and Second-team All-Big 12 recognition in 2012. He set West Virginia University single-season records in 2011 for pass completions (291), attempts (448), and yards (3,741), before becoming the Big East single-season passing leader with 4,379 yards in 2012.

Demonstrating exceptional talent from an early stage, Smith was also recognized as a first-team all-state selection and Parade All-American during his senior year of high school, where he passed for 3,089 yards and 30 touchdowns. Selected by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, Smith immediately made an impact, earning AFC Offensive Player of the Week and Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week honors in his debut season. He became the first rookie quarterback in Jets franchise history to throw for over 300 yards in a single game that year. After spending his first two NFL seasons as a starter for the Jets, Smith later achieved a perfect passer rating in a 2014 game.

He signed a two-year, $75 million contract extension with the Raiders and immediately made history by setting a new franchise record for most passing yards in a debut game.
