Gideon Adlon was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1997. She holds both American and German citizenship. Adlon is the daughter of actress Pamela Adlon and director Felix Adlon. Her paternal grandfather was German filmmaker Percy Adlon, and her maternal grandfather was American writer-producer Don Segall. Before dedicating herself fully to acting, Adlon spent a year studying photography at Columbia College Chicago. She made her acting debut in 2011, appearing in an episode of the FX comedy-drama series “Louie,” alongside her mother.
Her career progressed with guest appearances in television series such as “Girl Meets World” (2016), “Better Things” (2016), “When We Rise” (2017), “Criminal Minds” (2017), and “American Crime” (2017). Adlon gained notable recognition with her first starring role in the sex comedy film “Blockers” (2018), which achieved both positive critical reception and box office success. She followed this with a role in the drama film “The Mustang” (2019), which was also critically acclaimed. In 2019, she took on a significant role as Becca Gelb in the Netflix mystery teen drama series “The Society.”
Adlon continued to expand her filmography with roles in the horror sequel film “The Craft: Legacy” (2020) and the horror fantasy film “Witch Hunt” (2021). Her voice acting work includes contributions to the video game “The Walking Dead: The Final Season” (2018), and animated series like “Pacific Rim: The Black” (2021–2022), “Battle Kitty” (2022), and “Shape Island” (2023).
