Gilbert L. Bailey II is a performer with a background in musical theater. He is a native of San Diego, California, and a graduate of the musical theatre program at Penn State. His acting career includes notable appearances on Broadway, television, and off-Broadway productions.
His Broadway credits include the original casts of “Beetlejuice” (opened 2019) and “A Bronx Tale: The Musical” (opened 2016). In “A Bronx Tale,” he performed as Jesse and as part of the Ensemble, also serving as an understudy for the role of Tyrone until June 2018. Prior to this, he was a Swing in “The Book of Mormon” from October 2015 to November 2015. His television work includes an appearance as Pastor Douglas in a 2023 episode of “FBI: Most Wanted.”
Beyond Broadway and television, Gilbert L. Bailey II has a significant presence in off-Broadway theater, starring as Murray in a hit off-Broadway production and performing in “The Jonathan Larson Project.” He was also nominated for a Chita Rivera Award in 2017 for Outstanding Ensemble in a Broadway Show for his work in “A Bronx Tale: The Musical.”
