Hannah Scott

Hannah Scott established herself as a formidable talent in rowing, notably becoming a captain of the Princeton Women’s Crew and leading the team to secure two prestigious Ivy League Championships in the Varsity Eight. Her early career also saw significant domestic success, including winning the WJ16 division at the Irish Indoor Rowing Championship in 2015. That same year, she demonstrated her prowess by earning five medals at the Irish Rowing Championships, highlighted by a gold in the coxless four. Scott continued her ascent in 2017, capturing the WJ18 division at the Irish Indoor Rowing Championship and taking the Junior Single Sculls title at the Irish Rowing Championships.

A truly pivotal year for Scott unfolded in 2023 when she was instrumental in securing a gold medal for Great Britain’s women’s quadruple sculls team at the World Rowing Championships held in Belgrade, marking a significant career milestone. The team continued to showcase its dominance by victoriously claiming the European Championships title in Szeged in 2024. Her ultimate crowning achievement arrived at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, where Scott and her teammates spectacularly secured a gold medal in the women’s quadruple sculls, unequivocally establishing her as an Olympic champion and a leading figure in the sport. In recognition of her extraordinary achievements and significant contributions to the sport of rowing, Hannah Scott is slated to be appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the esteemed 2025 New Year Honours.
