Ian Barrows is a Paris 2024 Olympian, Bronze Medalist in the 49er, and current US Sailing Team athlete who brings a wealth of competitive and coaching experience to partnerships. After securing a gold medal in the Byte class at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, Ian Barrows went on to establish himself as a formidable competitor in the international sailing circuit. His early career also saw him earn a 2nd place finish at the 2008 Opti World Championship and the 2010 Byte World Championship. Prior to 2014, Barrows was a two-time high school fleet racing national champion, a high school singlehanded national champion, and achieved 2nd place at the Laser North Americans.
Their Olympic debut at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics culminated in a bronze medal in the 49er event, marking the first sailing medal for Team USA since Rio 2016 and the first in the 49er class since Sydney 2000. Currently a US Sailing Team athlete, Ian Barrows continues to leverage his extensive competitive and coaching experience.
