Ian Barrows

Ian Barrows is a Paris 2024 Olympian, Bronze Medalist in the 49er, and current US Sailing Team athlete who brings a wealth of competitive and coaching experience to partnerships. After securing a gold medal in the Byte class at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, Ian Barrows went on to establish himself as a formidable competitor in the international sailing circuit. His early career also saw him earn a 2nd place finish at the 2008 Opti World Championship and the 2010 Byte World Championship. Prior to 2014, Barrows was a two-time high school fleet racing national champion, a high school singlehanded national champion, and achieved 2nd place at the Laser North Americans.

Their Olympic debut at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics culminated in a bronze medal in the 49er event, marking the first sailing medal for Team USA since Rio 2016 and the first in the 49er class since Sydney 2000. Currently a US Sailing Team athlete, Ian Barrows continues to leverage his extensive competitive and coaching experience. His consistent performance, leadership, and ability to excel at the sport’s highest echelons underscore his dedication and enduring impact on competitive sailing.
