Dan Langan was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and began his baking journey at an early age, learning from his mother and grandmother. By middle school, he was teaching himself cake decorating techniques, and during high school, he worked as a cake decorator at a local bakery. This early exposure to the culinary arts set the foundation for his future career. He pursued higher education at Marymount Manhattan College, graduating in 2012 with a B.S. in Business Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. The same year, he launched his blog, Baked By Dan, to showcase his custom cakes and desserts, quickly gaining a following.
Langan’s television career began in 2016 when he appeared as a finalist on Season 2 of Food Network’s “Spring Baking Championship.” His talent and distinct style led to further opportunities, including becoming a winning contestant on “Cake Wars.” His unique approach to sugar art and baking earned him a digital series with Food Network in 2018, titled “Dan Can Bake It,” where he tackled fantastical cake creation challenges. The series saw a second season in January 2019, further solidifying his presence within the culinary entertainment landscape.
