Ike Barinholtz

Isaac “Ike” Barinholtz was born on February 18, 1977, in Chicago, Illinois. He initially pursued a career in politics but shifted his focus to comedy after attending a show at The Vic Theatre. Barinholtz developed his comedic skills through classes at The Second City, ImprovOlympic, and Annoyance Theatre in Chicago. His foundational training included two years in Amsterdam with the comedy troupe Boom Chicago, where he performed alongside notable comedians such as Jordan Peele, Josh Meyers, and Nicole Parker.

Barinholtz gained national recognition as a cast member on Mad TV from 2002 to 2007. During his tenure, he developed various characters and celebrity impressions, becoming a repertory performer within a year of joining. After leaving Mad TV, he expanded his career into film, appearing in parody films like “Disaster Movie” (2008) and taking on roles in comedies such as “Neighbors” (2014) and its sequel “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising” (2016). He also notably played Griggs in the DC Comics film “Suicide Squad” (2016).

In addition to his acting roles, Barinholtz has also made significant contributions as a writer and producer. He co-wrote the action-comedy film “Central Intelligence” (2016) and served as writer, producer, and director for the 2018 film “The Oath,” in which he also starred. His television work includes a prominent role as Morgan Tookers on “The Mindy Project” (2012-2017), where he also contributed as a writer and story editor. More recently, he has been involved in several other television projects, including “The Afterparty” (2022) and “History of the World, Part II” (2023), for which he also served as writer and executive producer. Barinholtz has demonstrated a notable aptitude for game shows, becoming the inaugural winner of the primetime season of “Celebrity Jeopardy!” in 2023 and a co-winner of the $1,000,000 top prize on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” in 2024, contributing his winnings to various charities.
