Iris Stryx

Iris Stryx, born Iris Saunders on February 19, 1995, in Nassau, The Bahamas, has established herself as a recording artist and songwriter. Her early career began with a focus on piano, composition, and performing arts. During her time at the University of Miami Film School, she expanded her artistic endeavors into acting and singing. This foundational training provided her with a comprehensive understanding of performance and music creation, which she later integrated into her sonic identity.

Stryx’s career progression is marked by her ability to fuse Bahamian calypso and Soca music with elements of reggae, dancehall, and Afrobeat. In 2016, she released her debut single, “Island Girl,” which garnered initial radio play and publicity. She followed this with “Kings Town” in 2018 and “Have A Good Time” in 2019. Her music has taken her on international tours, further expanding her audience. A key turning point came with the release of her reggae/Afrobeat track “Enchanting” in 2024, which marked her return to the music industry after giving birth to her daughter. The music video for “Enchanting” notably featured her daughter, adding a personal dimension to her work.

Her achievements include radio appearances on ZNS-TV and ZNM-FM in 2017 for her single “Island Girl,” as well as significant media coverage for “Enchanting” on platforms like Hot New Hip Hop, Earmilk, and Substream Magazine.
