Ismael Cruz Cordova

Ismael Cruz Cordova was born on April 7, 1987, in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico. His acting career began locally in commercials, television, and film at the age of fifteen, coinciding with his involvement in his high school drama club. In 2006, he moved to New York City to pursue further studies in acting, attending New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Cordova’s career includes diverse roles, ranging from children’s television to major film productions. He gained national attention through his role as Mando on “Sesame Street” (2013–2014), a part he secured through an open casting call. His television work further expanded with recurring roles in “The Good Wife” (2011), “Ray Donovan” (2016), “The Catch” (2017), and “Berlin Station” (2018–2019). He also appeared in “The Mandalorian” (2019) and “The Undoing” (2020).

In film, Cordova has appeared in projects such as “In the Blood” (2014), “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk” (2016), “Mary Queen of Scots” (2018), and “Miss Bala” (2019). A significant milestone in his career is his role as Arondir in “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” (2022–present), which earned him a Critics’ Choice nomination. He continues to be active in both film and television, with several upcoming productions.
