Multitalented Emily Kinney is an actress and singer-songwriter whose role as Beth Greene in The Walking Dead helped to establish both her acting and musical credentials: as well as appearing as committed Christian teenager Beth Greene in AMC’s landmark horror series, she also contributed to the show’s soundtrack, with her rendition of the Irish ballad ‘The Parting Glass’ achieving millions of streams on Spotify. Kinney’s other acting accomplishments include recurring roles in acclaimed series such as Masters of Sex and Arrow. Her most recent TV work includes a recurring role in the Netflix thriller series, Messiah. She released her fourth album, The Supporting Character, in 2021. Thanks to her work, she has a huge online fanbase, which includes nearly 2 million Instagram followers.
Kinney began acting professionally in the mid 2000s but her big break came when, aged 25, she was cast as the 16-year-old Beth Greene in The Walking Dead. Joining the show in time for its second season, she played the character flawlessly, ultimately being promoted to part of the main cast by the time she left at the end of season five. In 2015, she was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress on Television. In 2020, she, along with the rest of the cast, shared an Honorary Merit Award at the Cin Euphoria Award. Since leaving the show, her other notable roles have included the likes of Brie Larvan aka the Bug-Eyed Bandit in The CW shows The Flash and Arrow.
Kinney’s parallel pop career has seen her release four albums, undertake two major US tours, and enjoy millions of streams thanks to brilliant tracks like ‘Be Good’, ‘Rockstar’, and ‘This is War’.
