Jake Miller is what some have called a “quintuple threat”: this American rapper, singer, songwriter, actor and model has a global fanbase so devoted that they’ve even given themselves a nickname: the ’Millertary’. After choosing to pursue music as a career just out of high school, he worked relentlessly to develop his craft. His tenacity paid off, and he was opening for Mac Miller and Snoop Dogg at some of his earliest live performances. Several years later, he’s headlining international world tours and playing at some of the most popular festivals across the globe.
Miller was born and raised in Weston, Florida, gifted with a burning passion for music. He burst onto the scene after triumphing in Samsung’s Kick it With the Band talent competition in 2011, a win that gifted him the funds to self-launch his music career while broadening his exposure to a global audience – he soon invested the prize money into studio time and music videos. Since then, he’s been on a meteoric upward rise, signing a major-label deal with Warner Brothers Records (home to Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars and Jason DeRulo) and releasing astonishingly popular singles such as ‘A Million Lives’, ‘First Flight Home’, ‘Overnight’ and ‘Wait for You’.
After signing to Warner, Miller released two projects: an EP entitled The Road Less Travelled, and his debut full-length album: Us Against Them. Both projects peaked in the Top 10 of the Rap Album Charts, before his 2014 follow-up EP Dazed and Confused hit No 3, confirming Miller’s status as a crossover artist with appeal to fans of both pop and hip-hop. Since then, he’s issued two further studio albums and embarked on annual headline tours that have taken the singer across the globe, while pursuing a burgeoning career in acting and modelling. Miller has recently signed a major-label deal with RED/Sony Music and released his latest single, ‘Wait For You’: he’s currently touring America, performing material from his 2019 EP Based on a True Story.
