Jake Miller

Jacob Harris Miller, born on November 28, 1992, in Weston, Florida, is an American singer, songwriter, and rapper. He began his music career by creating videos in his bedroom and posting them to YouTube in his teenage years. In March 2011, Miller performed live for the first time, opening for Snoop Dogg. That same year, he won the Samsung and T-Mobile USA national “Kick it With the Band” talent competition, which provided $35,000 for his music career. He subsequently opened for Mac Miller and performed with artists such as Flo Rida, Sean Kingston, and Asher Roth. In December 2011, Miller participated in the Y100 Jingle Ball concert alongside Cody Simpson and We the Kings. His early work included a collaboration with Big Time Rush on the song “Lost In Love” from their album “24/Seven.” He independently released his EP “Spotlight” in July 2012, featuring the single “What I Wouldn’t Give.”

Miller’s career progressed significantly in 2013 when he signed with E1 Music. He released the single “A Million Lives” and the EP “The Road Less Traveled” in April of that year. That November, he released his debut full-length album, “Us Against Them.” Shortly after, he signed a record deal with Warner Bros. Records. Under Warner Bros., he released the EP “Dazed and Confused” in November 2014, which included the lead single “First Flight Home” and collaborations with Nikki Flores and Travie McCoy. In July 2015, he unexpectedly released another EP, “Rumors,” which featured five new songs and debuted at No. 118 on the Billboard 200. A portion of the proceeds from the track “Sunshine” on this EP, dedicated to a childhood friend, was directed toward the Dylan Schopp Sunshine Foundation for youth suicide awareness. In 2016, Miller also signed with Wilhelmina Models, expanding his presence beyond music.

After parting ways with Warner Bros. Records in 2017 to pursue greater creative control, Miller established a recording studio in his bedroom. He released his sophomore album, “2:00am in LA,” in June 2017, followed by “Silver Lining” in March 2018. The latter album featured an interlude with a voicemail from his father. In July 2018, Miller signed a record deal with RED MUSIC, a division of Sony Music. His single “Wait for You,” released in November 2018, climbed charts and led to the “Wait for You Tour” in 2019, coinciding with his EP release, “BASED ON A TRUE STORY.” During the COVID-19 pandemic, Miller engaged with fans through “Quarantunes” videos on TikTok, gaining over 400,000 followers. He released “Silver Lining II” in 2021 and “BASED ON A TRUE STORY II” in 2022. Beginning in 2023, Miller found significant success in China, with his 2015 song “Rumors” going viral. This led to a China tour and a performance at the Bilibili New Year’s Eve Gala. In April 2024, he signed with 88rising in China, further expanding his international reach.
