James Daly is a widely renowned English professional footballer who is best know for playing as a forward and sometimes defender for the League One club, Bristol Rovers. Born in Brighton, Daly supports Brighton & Hove Albion and started playing football at a young age. He has a trial at Brighton at the age of ten but didn’t make the cut; following on from this he joined the academy of Crystal Palace at age fourteen.
In 2018, Daly was named in the first squad team as a substitute away against AFC Bournemouth.
In the same year, Daly was named the club’s ‘Scholar of the Year’ and in the summer he signed a professional deal with the club. In 2018, he was put on loan to the Isthmian League Premier Division side, Kingstonian until the end of the season. In the next year, having gained experience on loan, he signed a contract extension with Crystal Palace and was included as a substitute in three first team squads in 2019, he regularly appeared as a defender for the Crystal Palace under 23 side in the 2019-20 season.
In 2020, Daly signed a two and a half year deal with Bristol Rovers and made his debut for Bristol Rovers in February of that year. In October, Daly scored his first goal for the club in a victorious 2 – 1 away game against Lincoln City. Daly has a promising footballing career ahead of him and continues to impress on the pitch.
