James Carrol, known professionally as “Kaelaris,” was born on July 26, 1988, in the United Kingdom. His career in esports commentary began in 2012, coinciding with the launch of the StarCraft II beta. He initially gained recognition through YouTube content and online tournaments. This early work led to an invitation to commentate at a major LAN event, the IEM World Championship, organized by ESL. Following this, Carrol accepted a full-time position as an in-house commentator for ESL, working alongside other notable figures in the esports broadcasting community.

Over his career, Carrol has demonstrated versatility by expanding his commentary and hosting roles beyond StarCraft II. He has covered top-tier events in various esports scenes, including Heroes of the Storm, PUBG, PUBG Mobile, and World of Warcraft MDI.
