Amer Al-Barkawi, known professionally as Miracle-, was born on June 20, 1997, to a Polish mother and Jordanian father, holding dual citizenship. His journey in competitive gaming began at a young age in Jordan, playing DotA: Allstars. After starting in Dota 2 as a highly ranked public game player, or ‘pubstar,’ Al-Barkawi entered the professional scene with Balkan Bears in early 2015,
later gaining recognition as the #1 MMR player in Europe and globally. This achievement led to his recruitment by N0tail for the team (monkey) Business.
In late 2015, (monkey) Business transitioned into OG following a sponsorship, marking a significant turn in Al-Barkawi’s career. With OG, he secured major victories at the Frankfurt Major in 2015 and the Manila Major and ESL One Frankfurt in 2016. During this period, on May 11, 2016,
Al-Barkawi made history as the first Dota 2 player to reach a matchmaking rating of over 9000 MMR. His exceptional performances with OG eventually culminated in their win at the Manila Major in June 2016.
Following his time with OG, Al-Barkawi joined Team Liquid in September 2016. This move led to further significant achievements, including a victory at The International 2017, where Team Liquid secured nearly $11 million in prize money. After a successful tenure with Team Liquid, he and his teammates departed to establish their own organization, Nigma, in November 2019, which later became Nigma Galaxy. Al-Barkawi has continued to be a prominent figure in the professional Dota 2 circuit, despite periods of inactivity for personal reasons, including a brief semi-retirement in April 2023 before rejoining Nigma Galaxy’s active roster in December 2023.
