Jarrod Berry

Jarrod Berry was born on February 5, 1998, in Horsham, Victoria. His junior career began with local football at the Horsham Saints and continued with the North Ballarat Rebels in the TAC Cup. He was recognized as a standout junior, earning All-Australian and team of the year honors in 2015 as a bottom-age player. Despite injuries affecting his top-age year, Berry captained Vic Country at the AFL Under 18 Championships in 2016. At the draft combine, he demonstrated his athletic abilities by winning both the 3 km time trial and the beep test, highlighting his competitiveness and endurance.

The Brisbane Lions drafted Jarrod Berry with their second selection, 17th overall, in the 2016 national draft. He made his AFL debut in Round 3 of the 2017 season against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium. Throughout his career with the Brisbane Lions, Berry has been a versatile midfielder, utilized in various roles. He is known for his ability to provide a strong presence at contests and also play on the wing due to his running capacity. A notable performance in the 2022 Semi-Final against Melbourne saw him successfully nullify a key opponent’s influence.
