Jason Kenneth Kokrak was born on May 22, 1985, in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. His golf career began to take shape during his high school years at JFK High School in Warren, Ohio, where he twice led the Eagles to an Ohio state championship as the Division III medalist. He continued his amateur career at Xavier University in Cincinnati, graduating in 2007. During his time at Xavier, Kokrak secured two Ohio Amateur titles in both 2006 and 2007, demonstrating his emerging talent in collegiate golf. In 2007, he also qualified for the U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club and led all players in the 36-hole match play qualifier at the U.S. Amateur held at the Olympic Club in San Francisco.
Kokrak turned professional in 2008 and quickly began accumulating victories on various tours. He earned four wins on the eGolf Professional Tour, including the Cabarrus Classic and Bushnell Championship in 2010, where he was also the leading money winner. His success continued on the Nationwide Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour), where he secured two victories in 2011: the Albertsons Boise Open and the Miccosukee Championship. These early professional achievements were pivotal, leading to his qualification for the PGA Tour in 2012. Over his career, he made 185 cuts in 278 events played on the PGA Tour, accumulating over $20 million in official money.
His PGA Tour career includes three notable victories: the CJ Cup at Shadow Creek in 2020, the Charles Schwab Challenge in 2021, and the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Houston Open in 2021. He also achieved a T14 finish at the Masters Tournament in 2022 and a T19 at the PGA Championship in 2018, showcasing his performance in major championships.
