When it comes to taking on the competition, Jason Puncheon pulls zero punches. The England-born professional football player has racked up an impressive collection of honours since his professional debut in 2003, securing a place on the 2007 to 2008 PFA League Two Team of the Year, 2008 to 2010 PFA League One Team of the Year, 2010 to 2011 Football League One runner-up team, and runner-up in the 2015 to 2016 season FA Cup. A mere sixteen years into his career, Puncheon has made over four hundred appearances, scoring more than five-dozen goals across all top-four divisions in English league football. His transfer to the Cypriot football team Pafos in August of 2019 came hot on the heels of a string of memorable performances at clubs Crystal Palace, Southampton, Barnet, Milton Keynes Dons, and more.
Puncheon proved himself a standout player early on in his career, earning the title of the Football Association’s Player of the Third Round in his fourth year. The midfielder’s brilliant style of play and flexibility with both wings was cited as one of the major pull factors for his current club, Pafos, who have dubbed him their “greatest transfer” since their inception. Qualified for the Jamaica national team through his parentage, fans are hoping Puncheon will eventually give them the opportunity to witness him take to the international stage.
