Jason Ritter is an American actor known for his roles across television and film, including “Parenthood,” “Gravity Falls,” and “Matlock.” After making his professional acting debut at age 10 in the 1990 television film The Dreamer of Oz: The L. Frank Baum Story, Jason Ritter established a prolific career across film and television. His early film work included roles in the teen-oriented projects Swimfan (2002), Freddy vs. Jason (2003), and Raise Your Voice (2004).
From 2003 to 2005, Ritter starred as Kevin Girardi in the CBS family drama series Joan of Arcadia. He earned critical acclaim for his performance in the 2007 film The Education of Charlie Banks and went on to produce and star in the independent dramedy Good Dick with Marianna Palka in 2008. Ritter achieved a significant career milestone with his recurring role as Mark Cyr on NBC’s Parenthood from 2010 to 2014, which garnered him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2012 for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.
