Jerryd Bayless

Jerryd Bayless is a former NBA athlete known for his dynamic playmaking as a point guard and shooting guard, having showcased his skills across multiple teams including the Portland Trail Blazers, Memphis Grizzlies, and Milwaukee Bucks. After earning recognition as both a McDonald’s All-American and a first-team Parade All-American in 2007, Jerryd Bayless quickly established himself as a formidable talent during his freshman year with the Arizona Wildcats (2007-08). He led the team in scoring with an impressive average of 19.7 points, 4.0 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game, becoming the first freshman in Arizona Wildcats history to achieve team MVP honors. His exceptional collegiate performance led to his selection as the 11th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers, subsequently being traded to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Bayless immediately made an impact, being named the Las Vegas Summer League Most Valuable Player in 2008. Bayless’s dynamic playmaking continued in the NBA, where he showcased his skills across multiple teams. With the Portland Trail Blazers, he recorded a career-high 31 points in his first career start in December 2009. His tenure with the Toronto Raptors (2010–2012) saw him tie his career-high of 31 points in 2010.

In recognition of his collegiate excellence, the University of Arizona inducted him into their prestigious Ring of Honor in 2018, celebrating his foundational achievements and lasting influence on the Wildcats program.
