The incredibly talented actress Jess Walton is best know for her roles in two CBS soap operas: as Jill Foster Abbott in the long-running The Young and the Restless, and as Kelly Harper in Capitol. She is married to John W James, the renowned grief recovery authority and co-author of the best seller, The Grief Recovery Handbook, and Walton donates her spare time to the Grief Recovery Help Line.
Walton was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and raised in Toronto, Canada. She always had a love of acting and performing as a child, and went on to study at the Toronto Workshop Productions’ Repertory Theatre. In 1969, she moved to Hollywood and signed with Universal Studios. She made her TV debut in the Walter Brennan Western series, The Guns of Will Sonnett, and went on to feature in such classic 1970s TV shows as Kojak, Ironside, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Rockford Files, Starsky and Hutch, and The Streets of San Francisco. She landed the role of Kelly Harper in the soap opera Capitol in 1986, and then in 1987 was cast in the long-running soap, The Young and the Restless. It is a show that she still works on to this day.
