Jesus Pinedo

Jesus Pinedo, born on June 22, 1996, in Callao, Peru, is a prominent mixed martial artist competing in the Featherweight division. His journey in martial arts began at a young age, engaging in various contact sports like judo and karate from ages five or six. Pinedo’s early inclination towards mixed martial arts contrasted with his peers’ interest in soccer, setting his athletic path. His initial forays into fighting during his youth led his father to enroll him in pre-military boarding school.

Pinedo made his professional mixed martial arts debut just before his 17th birthday on July 17, 2013, securing a first-round TKO victory. In his teenage years, he accumulated a professional record of 9-4-1 across 14 fights. During this period, he earned titles in both the 300 Sparta and Inka Fighting Championship organizations, notably clinching the IFC Featherweight Championship in February 2018 via guillotine choke and the 300 Sparta Featherweight title in June 2018 with a second-round TKO. He then made his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut in November 2018, replacing an injured fighter and winning by unanimous decision.

After a period following his departure from the UFC, Pinedo joined the Professional Fighters League (PFL). In 2023, Pinedo notably defeated Brendan Loughnane by knockout, becoming the first fighter to stop Loughnane in his MMA career. He continued his campaign in the 2023 PFL Featherweight Tournament, securing a TKO victory in the semifinals. Pinedo ultimately won the 2023 PFL Featherweight Championship by defeating Gabriel Braga in a rematch, earning the title and a significant prize. He has continued to compete in subsequent PFL tournaments, demonstrating consistent performance in the featherweight division.
