Ji Chang-wook

Ji Chang-wook has established himself as a prominent South Korean actor and singer, recognized for his impactful roles across television series and films. After achieving critical acclaim for his performance in the 2013–2014 historical drama ‘Empress Ki,’ Ji Chang-wook rose to significant popularity across Asia. He made his official film debut in ‘Sleeping Beauty’ (2008), following a supporting role in the high-rated weekend drama ‘My Too Perfect Sons’ (2009). His first lead in the 159-episode daily drama ‘Smile Again’ (2010–2011) earned him the ‘Best Actor in a Daily Drama’ award at the KBS Drama Awards.

Early recognition included the ‘New Star Award’ at the SBS Drama Awards (2011) for ‘Warrior Baek Dong-soo,’ and ‘Best New Actor’ at The Musical Awards (2013) for his stage role in ‘The Days.’ Following this breakthrough, Ji Chang-wook solidified his international recognition, especially in China, with his titular role in the action-thriller series ‘Healer’ (2014–2015). This led to lead roles in Mandarin-language dramas ‘The Whirlwind Girl 2’ and ‘Mr. Right’ (2016). He then starred in tvN’s ‘The K2’ (2016) and the commercially successful thriller film ‘Fabricated City’ (2017).

That same year, Ji Chang-wook made a significant ?100 million donation for Turkey–Syria earthquake relief. In March 2023, Ji Chang-wook established his own one-man agency, Spring Company, with his long-time manager. He was subsequently cast in ‘The Manipulated’ (2023) and starred in ‘Welcome to Samdal-ri’ (2023–2024), for which he received the Best Actor award at the 10th Apan Star Awards in 2024. Additionally, he was awarded Best Supporting Actor for ‘Revolver’ at the Korean Film Producers Association Awards in 2024, further cementing his versatile acting prowess.
