English Actor Jimmy Mistry has not only appeared in numerous blockbuster films, such as Blood Diamond and Ella Enchanted, he is also a favourite in soap operas and dramas, playing Dr Fonseca in BBC’s Eastenders and Kal Nazir in Coronation Street, as well a Silent Witness feature.
Since gaining popularity in Eastenders in 1998, Mistry’s acting career has sped into success, continuously working on stage and in film and appearing in shows such as The Syndicate and Nearly Famous. His film credits are more than impressive; starring alongside Thandie Newton in Exam, a Bafta nominated movie, as well as Leonardo DiCaprio in Blood Diamond. 2010 saw Mistry’s appearance in It’s a Wonderful Afterlife, directed by Gurinder Chadha which premiered at the 2010 Sundance film festival. His versatile acting ability also earnt him a feature alongside Danny Dyer in horror film Basement, also in 2010.
Mistry’s unrelenting talents have seen him not only produce and write, but also star in And The Beat Goes on, a documentary about Ibiza which explored the creation of house music and the history of the Island. The documentary, which was a five year project of Mistry’s, featured globally recognised DJ’s such as David Guetta, Pete Tong and Danny Rampling. Mistry himself isn’t shy from the decks and he can often be found DJ-ing across the UK and Europe, as well as having his own record label and studio.
