Scottish actor Joe McFadden has starred in television shows such as The Crow Road, Heartbeat and Holby City as well as working as a voiceover for radio.
Growing up in Glasgow, McFadden always had natural acting ability, and while still in school his teacher put him forward for a part in Taggart. Soon after, he landed a role in Scottish soap opera Take the High Road, as well as developing his career in the theatre, starring in shows like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Rent and Aladdin. Television roles in shows such as The Crow Road, Cranford and Sex, Chips and Rock n Roll helped to secure his reputation as a strong actor with the ability to play a huge range of parts. He was also cast in several films, including Small Face, Dad Savage, and The Trouble with Men and Women, before going on to star in Heartbeat for two years. He then made a return to the stage, appearing in plays Haunting Julia and Torch Song Trilogy before once again returning to television with a lead role in Holby City. He stayed with the show for three years, also cementing his status as one of the most well-loved and well-known English actors with an appearance on Strictly Come Dancing. He and his dance partner went on to win the series, taking home the trophy and garnering national attention for his performance.
Most recently he has been starring in the touring production of music Priscilla Queen of the Desert, as well as continuing to work for Bauer Media across their radio stations.
