John de Lancie gained significant recognition for his portrayal of the omnipotent character Q across various ‘Star Trek’ series, debuting in ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ (1987-1994) before reprising the role in ‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’ (1993) and ‘Star Trek: Voyager’ (1996-2001). His first television role was in ‘Captains and the Kings’ (1976). He held a recurring role as Eugene Bradford on ‘Days of Our Lives’ from 1982-1986 and again from 1989-1990. Extending his contributions to the ‘Star Trek’ universe, de Lancie co-authored the novel ‘Star Trek: I, Q’ with Peter David in 1996.

The same year, he formed ‘Alien Voices’ with Leonard Nimoy and Nat Segaloff, producing acclaimed audio dramas. De Lancie continued to expand his diverse portfolio with notable voice acting performances, including Antonio Malochio in ‘Interstate ’76’ (1997), Dr. Death in ‘Outlaws’ (1997), and Trias in ‘Planescape: Torment’ (1999). On stage, he performed as Pierre Curie in Alan Alda’s play ‘Radiance: The Passion of Marie Curie’ in 2001.

His prolific voice acting continues with his performance as Granamyr in ‘Masters of the Universe: Revolution’ (2024). Beyond screen work, he serves as a narrator for major orchestras, including the New York and Los Angeles Philharmonics, and continues to perform and direct for Los Angeles Theater Works. He also co-authored the book ‘Soldier of Light.’
