John Lukic is a decorated former professional footballer and experienced coach, highly valued for his extensive career as a goalkeeper for prominent clubs like Arsenal and Leeds United. After an initial 165-game tenure with Leeds United, John Lukic transferred to Arsenal in July 1983 for £75,000, quickly establishing himself as the club’s number one goalkeeper by the 1984-85 season. Lukic was instrumental in Arsenal’s significant achievements during this period, including the 1987 League Cup victory and the dramatic 1988-89 First Division title win, where he was an ever-present in the side. He concluded his first spell with Arsenal in 1990, having made an impressive 277 appearances for the club.
