Julius Cowdrey

Julius Lindahl Cowdrey was born on January 30, 1993, in Canterbury, Kent, England. His family has a significant cricketing background; his father, Chris Cowdrey, and grandfather, Colin Cowdrey, both captained England. His twin brother, Fabian Cowdrey, also played for Kent County Cricket Club for five years. Julius discovered his interest in music at an early age while participating in the Tonbridge School choir. He began songwriting at the age of 16, following the musical path of his mother, who was a jazz singer.

Cowdrey initiated live music events at the Mahiki nightclub in London’s West End in 2013, becoming a regular performer at various London music venues, including The Troubadour. He subsequently spent time in both London and New York, focusing on his music career, and later headlined rooftop parties in Los Angeles. In November 2016, Cowdrey released his debut single, “7 Roads (I See You).” This track achieved commercial success, reaching Number 1 on the UK official iTunes singer-songwriter chart and Number 2 on the Spotify UK Viral Chart.

Beyond his music, Cowdrey became widely recognized for his appearances on the reality television show ‘Made in Chelsea’. He joined the show for 12 months before deciding to leave in 2017 to concentrate on his music. In 2020, Cowdrey auditioned for ‘The Voice’, performing an original song titled “Take Me Home.” He has since returned to ‘Made in Chelsea’ and has founded ‘Safe Space’ and ‘Joyna Community’, initiatives focused on mental wellness. He engages in brand partnerships and collaborations leveraging his social media presence.
