Jun Woong-Tae

Jun Woong-Tae established himself as a dominant force in modern pentathlon, securing his first major international victory with a Gold medal in the Team event at the 2015 Berlin World Championships. He continued this success in 2016, earning another Gold in the Relay at the Moscow World Championships before representing South Korea at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, where he placed 19th in the men’s individual event. His consistent performance led to another Gold medal in the Relay at the 2017 Cairo World Championships, solidifying his position as a top-tier athlete. Building on this momentum, Jun achieved a significant milestone in 2018 by winning the UIPM World Cup.

In 2022, he captured two Gold medals at the Alexandria World Championships in both the Relay and Mixed Relay events. The same year, he dominated the Asian Games in Hangzhou, earning two additional Gold medals in both the Individual and Team competitions. Most recently, he added another World Championship title to his name, securing a Gold medal in the Relay at the 2024 Zhengzhou World Championships. With appearances at two Olympic Games and numerous World Championships, Jun has consistently accumulated multiple medals across individual, team, and relay categories, making him one of the most decorated modern pentathletes globally.
