Kathryn Plummer is a dominant American professional volleyball player who plays in the outside hitter position for the United States women’s national team. She was part of the team that won the 2019 Pan-American Cup in Peru. Despite her youth, Plummer has decidedly made a name for herself in the sport, securing the Italian Cup, Italian Supercup and Italian League with the prestigious Italian professional club Imoco Volley Conegliano in 2021.
Plummer demonstrated incredible athletic prowess during high school, receiving numerous scholarship offers before deciding to enrol at Stanford on a full athletic scholarship. While at college, she helped the team win the NCAA national championships in 2016, 2018 and 2019, and was named Most Outstanding Player in 2018 and 2019. She won AVCA’s National Freshman of the Year, and in both 2017 and 2018 she was chosen as National Player of the Year.
Ever since she signed her first professional contract with Italian club Saugella Team Monza, Plummer’s career has gone from strength to strength. She spent a year playing for Japanese team Denso Airybees in 2020 before joining Imoco Volley, where she’s been since 2021. Known for staying calm and collected on the court, and playing with effortless confidence, Fuller has a bright future ahead of her in the sport.
