Mexican American actress Katie Barberi made her professional acting debut at age ten in Los Angeles, securing a role in Lillian Hellman’s Watch on the Rhine. Prior to this, she appeared in the Children’s Chorus of The Nevada Opera Company, participating in productions of Macbeth and La Boheme. Her early career quickly flourished with starring roles in three Disney films: Spooner, Appearances, and Not Quite Human II, where she collaborated with notable actors such as Robert Urich, Ernest Borgnine, and Alan Thicke. She also made guest appearances on network television alongside Jason Bateman in It’s Your Move and with Michael Landon in his final made-for-TV movie, Us.

Barberi also played an active and significant role as a member of the SagAftra negotiating committee, contributing to the establishment of the first Spanish-speaking television contract in United States history.
