Keith McKendree Mitchell was born on January 7, 1992, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He attended the Baylor School in Chattanooga and later pursued his college education at the University of Georgia, where he majored in Business and Real Estate. During his time at the University of Georgia from 2011 to 2014, he played college golf before turning professional.
Mitchell began his professional career in 2014. In 2015, he competed on the PGA Tour Latinoamérica, achieving a runner-up finish at the Brazil Open and securing four additional top-ten placements. The subsequent years, 2016 and 2017, saw him play on the Web.com Tour. A notable performance at the 2017 News Sentinel Open resulted in a third-place finish. His strong play in the 2017 Web.com Tour Finals earned him his PGA Tour card for the 2018 season, marking a significant step in his professional progression.
In 2018, Mitchell continued to demonstrate his capabilities on the PGA Tour, achieving a runner-up position at the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship.
