Keith Tyree Powers was born on August 22, 1992, in Sacramento, California. After graduating from Sheldon High School in 2010, he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a modeling career, signing with the Wilhelmina Agency. His early modeling work included various print advertisements. In 2013, Powers secured his first acting role in the film “House Party: Tonight’s the Night,” which was filmed in South Africa. This experience led him to commit to acting full-time. He quickly established himself in the industry, taking on a recurring role in the MTV series “Faking It” and gaining recognition for his performance as Tyree in the 2015 film “Straight Outta Compton.”
Powers continued to build his acting portfolio with significant roles in television and film. In 2017, he played Ronnie DeVoe in BET’s miniseries “The New Edition Story” and appeared as Cameron Drake in the Netflix film “#RealityHigh.” From 2017 to 2018, he co-starred in the Freeform series “Famous in Love” as Jordan Wilder. His career expanded further with roles in the Netflix series “What/If” (2019) and films such as “The Tomorrow War” (2021), where he played Major Greenwood, and “The Perfect Find” (2023), portraying Eric. In 2024, Powers co-starred as David in the Netflix adaptation of the YA novel “Uglies.” He has also ventured into production, serving as a producer for the short film “A Little Closure” (2021) and the upcoming film “Trip.”
