Kentaro Kameyama is the incredible fashion designer who became the surprise champion of the sixteenth season of Lifetime’s hit reality competition series Project Runway. His beautiful and unique designs play on different silhouettes and textures for his models, often in nearly monochromatic designs and airy fabrics to give a sense of ethereal urbanism, all inspired by his Japanese heritage and his willingness to experiment. Since his win on the hit show, Kameyama has been kept busy, and has had an array of successful runway shows since his victory in 2017. He has shown collections all over the world, from Los Angeles to Paris, and has been featured at several New York Fashion Weeks, with his ready to wear pieces available for purchase online.
Kameyama currently teaches at the prestigious FCI Fashion School in Los Angles, and also serves as the fashion design chair. His role within the school is to help organize the school’s various regular runway shows, and his designs have also been featured on the cat walk alongside those of his students. He has also costumed his first feature film. Titled Lets Dream, the film follows the photographer protagonist in his bizarre and otherworldly quest in this sci-fi adventure.
Outside of his main passion for the world of fashion, Kameyama is also a classically trained pianist and composer. He can also be found on his Instagram page, posting regular updates and selfies for his audience of over 50,000 followers.
