Marinus Kraus was born on February 13, 1991, in Oberaudorf, Bavaria, Germany. He began his professional ski jumping career with his debut at the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup in January 2013, held in Vikersund. In the same year, Kraus achieved a significant individual career milestone by securing a second-place finish in Kuusamo in November 2013, marking one of his best individual World Cup results.
